Carson Valley Pops Orchestra is saddened to announce that founder and former conductor Danny Yale died April 19, 2013 at the age of 90. Wife Cecilia, who played first violin for the orchestra and was a founder along with Brian Farnon, said she brought Yale’s violin to him so he could play it just before he died.
The Yales moved to Carson Valley in 1995, a few years before the formal founding of the orchestra in 1999. Yale conducted the orchestra through its first decade, but gave it up for his first love, the violin.
A service for Yale is set for 2 p.m. May 19 at the Carson Valley Inn.
